Yana Asks Obedient Officials to Report Assets and Taxes
The Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana appealed to officials of the Bandung City Government (Pemkot) to comply with reporting the State Administration Wealth Report (LHKPN) and individual Annual Tax Returns (SPT) ending on March 31, 2023.
"I have asked the Kadis and echelon 2 leadership groups to report taxes. My LHKPN has been reported in mid-January," said Yana at the Bandung City Hall, Wednesday, March 8 2023.
"Yesterday the tax returns for February were reported. I hope that before March 31, friends will have reported their obligations," he added.
He also appealed to officials not to flaunt their wealth. Although he admitted that when he became an official, he got many facilities.
"I often get paid when I become a resource person. There is also a salary. Now, I also get facilities. I usually buy toothpaste, now the toothpaste is prepared. I also usually buy gasoline. Now gasoline is facilitated. The money is a savings for me," he said.
Therefore, he said, the increase in wealth earned by officials as long as it is within a certain limit, need not be a problem.
"Indeed, officials get various facilities, but within certain limits. Expenditures that are usually spent, yes, so we are saving (savings)," he said.
Please note, SPT is a document used by taxpayers to report calculations and payments, tax objects and/or non-tax objects, and/or assets and obligations in accordance with the provisions of laws and regulations in the field of taxation.
"Taxes for the government are important because they are a source of income that will be used for infrastructure development, basic education and health services, as well as public services in general," he explained.
Yana emphasized that the Bandung City Government is committed to continuing to increase public awareness in paying and reporting taxes. This started with the awareness of state administrators and the Bandung City Government's State Civil Apparatus (ASN).
"In administering government, transparency and accountability are of the utmost importance to us. Because with this principle the zone of integrity of the clean bureaucratic area and serving the Clean Serving Bureaucratic Area Integrity Zone (ZI - WWBM) can be created," he said. (din)**
