Ahead of Ramadan, the Bandung City Government Holds a Bargain Market Again
Ahead of Ramadan, the Bandung City Government (Pemkot) has again held a low-cost market operation for staple goods for the community since March 13, 2023.
The operation of the low-cost market for the basic needs of the community will target 30 sub-districts in the city of Bandung.
Head of Distribution and Trade for Metrological Supervision, Bandung City Trade and Industry Service (Disdagin), Meiwan Kartiwa said, the mechanism for this cheap market event was divided into 2 sessions.
In the first session ahead of Ramadan, it was held in 15 sub-districts and every day it was held in 3 sub-districts.
The first session ahead of Ramadhan will be held on March 13-17. While the second session was held ahead of Idul Fitri and was held in 15 districts, on April 3-7.
The bazaar, said Meiwan, is to anticipate the increase in prices of basic necessities in the market ahead of Ramadan and help people get cheaper prices.
"The Bandung municipal government needs to anticipate price increases. Starting from Monday, March 13, we will carry out a bazaar," said Meiwan as a guest speaker for Bandung Responding at the Cipaku Hotel, Tuesday, March 14, 2023.
Various basic needs are provided in this cheap market. Starting from rice, oil, chili to 3 kg of LPG gas.
Meiwan said, the Bandung City Department of Trade and Industry will work with several staple food providers, regarding goods available at low-cost markets. Like Perum Bulog, PT. Pertamina, Wilmar Group and others.
For visitors to the bazaar, said Meiwan, it is not limited to residents of the sub-district. However, the goods purchased are limited, such as rice for one person, only 1 pack, and 2 liters of Minyakita.
"At one point we provide 100 LPG gas cylinders, 500 kg of rice, 20 cartons or 600 liters of oil," he said.

1. March 13, 2023: Coblong, Sukajadi and Rancasari Districts.
2. March 14, 2023: Regol District, Sumur Bandung, and Babakan Ciparay
