Head of the Investigation and Enforcement Section for the Enforcement of Regional Law Products for the City of Bandung Satpol PP, Mujahid said, this activity to create conditions ahead of Ramadan responds to public anxiety regarding the distribution of alcoholic beverages and drugs without a permit.

This is also done so that people feel safer when welcoming the month of Ramadan.

"We are trying to control businesses without permits that also sell drugs without permits which are not justified," he told Bandung Public Relations.

"We are accompanied by BPOM and the police who have authority. We are taking action on business licensing, this is clearly without permits and is troubling the community. This is a tipir (minor crime) sanction. We will conduct further investigations," he added.

He mentioned the mode of the sellers in several places where they sell tissues and beauty tools. However, after an examination, it turned out that they also sell drugs that are not licensed.

"They pack the medicine in retail, they sell it for Rp. 5,000 for three pills," he said

Furthermore, the goods that were secured were confiscated by the Bandung City BPOM.

"For evidence of drugs under the authority of the police and BPOM, we will regulate the business, the business will disrupt public order, we will seal the place of business. The one who will confiscate it will be from BPOM," he added.

The creation of these conditions was held in several places, namely the Laswi, Cikudapateuh, and Peta areas.

He said, the violators who were caught in the raid were found to have violated Regional Regulation No. 11 of 2010 concerning Prohibition, Supervision and Control of Alcoholic Beverages and Regional Regulation No. 9 of 2019 concerning Public Order, Peace and Protection of the Community.

"Furthermore, the violators will be processed further according to the applicable rules," he said.

Meanwhile, Staff at the Bandung POM Center, Wenni Warastuti, said that in the field, her team found various kinds of drugs without a permit, including strip or plain packaging.

"There are four types of drugs, the strips with the written names Tramadol and Trihexyphenidyl, while the other two are plain, unidentified," he said.

He further said that the public could report if they found a place selling drugs without a permit to BPOM at the consumer information service on Jalan Pasteur no. 25 Bandung City or telephone to 022 4230546. (rob)**
