According to him, the waste emergency period in Bandung City is until October 25 2023. Therefore, Ema invites all elements of society to pay more attention to the waste problem.

"The waste emergency period is until 25 October 2023, there are only 16 calendar days left. Progress for waste in Bandung City is already going well. However, the ideal is still far away, because it still depends on the landfill," said Ema on the sidelines of the activity, Monday 9 October 2023.

He revealed that waste in Bandung City is 1600 tons per day, with a total of 135 TPS. With that, he invited people to sort waste starting from the source, namely each person's house.

"For example, at the Cicendo District Office, the leftover food or organic waste is put into Loseda (Lodong Sesa Dapur), the inorganic waste is put into baskets and in partnership with collectors it is managed by the Gober (Culverts and Cleanliness) team," said Ema, who is also the Daily Chair. Bandung City Waste Emergency Management.

Ema reminded that sub-district heads and village heads are obliged to pay attention to the waste problem in their areas.

"The sub-district head and sub-district heads are required to not produce inorganic waste in their offices every day," he said.

Ema also revealed that many areas have become pilots for waste management, so that there is no more waste in the area.

"Like the sub-districts of Antapani Tengah, Sukajadi and several other areas that have successfully managed waste. So you just have to learn how to get there in each area," he explained.

Meanwhile, the Head of Andir Subdistrict, Budi Rahmat Taufik, revealed that his area has implemented waste sorting from upstream.

"The waste-free area in Andir has reached 27.78 percent, in 54 RWs. It has been implemented in 6 sub-districts of Campaka, Maleber, Garuda, Dunguscariang, Ciroyom and Kebon Jeruk," he explained.

There are 225 waste storage holes in Andir District. In the form of overlaid bricks, rubbish pits, Loseda, and Biopori which are divided into each village in Andir sub-district.

"We continue to walk and strive to implement this by all communities," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of Cicendo Subdistrict, Bira Gumbira, admitted that he continues to strive to promote waste sorting to the community.

"We continue to make massive efforts to disseminate information to the community to reduce waste," he said.

Bira also encouraged shops in the Cicendo area to sort waste.

"We provide socialization for street vendors' waste on Jalan Radjiman. This is also for them, so the impact on the environment is clean," he said. (yan)**
