Bandung City Government Wins Smart Government & Smart Society Award from the Ministry of Communication and Information

The Bandung City Government (Pemkot) received another award. This time, the Bandung City Government won the Smart Government and Smart Society awards from the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kemenkominfo) in the National Smart City Forum, Exhibition and Awarding for the Movement Towards Smart City 2023.

The award was given directly by the Indonesian Minister of Communication and Information (Kominfo) Budi Arie Setiadi to the Acting Mayor of Bandung, Bambang Tirtoyuliono, who was represented by the Head of the Bandung Communication and Information Service (Diskominfo), Yayan Ahmad Brilyana at Nusantara Hall, ICE BSD City South Tangerang, Thursday December 7, 2023.

Yayan said the award was the result of pentahelix cooperation and collaboration between the government, society, academics, media, companies and other stakeholders.

"Thank God, for the guidance of the Acting Mayor and the Regional Secretary and the cooperation of all stakeholders, this year we won the best smart government and smart society awards in Indonesia," said Yayan after the event.

Yayan said this award was an appreciation of the Bandung City Government's efforts to implement integrated Electronic-Based Government System (SPBE) governance in the City of Bandung.

According to him, smart governance can make Bandung City Government services more transparent.

He said that the Bandung City Government also continues to improve the digital literacy and digital skills of the community with various programs.

"Hopefully this award will encourage us to run an effective and efficient government to provide perfect services to the community," he said.

Meanwhile, the Indonesian Minister of Communication and Information (Kominfo) Budi Arie Setiadi said that the presence of technology such as artificial intelligence, internet of thought, big data analytics and cloud computing has the opportunity to help increase productivity, work efficiency and a better quality of life.

Therefore, digital transformation through technology development and Smart City basically offers various potentials or opportunities in general through the integration of the internet of thought.

"In the concept of regional development, these technologies can be used to support Smart City initiatives. Because Smart City can increase cost efficiency, time and increase productivity," he said.

According to him, the Smart City development trend will already be underway significantly in 2023. Such as the efforts of the Directorate General of Information Applications of the Ministry of Communication and Information, namely the Smart City Movement, Smart City and Smart Province or Smart Province 2023 Program.

Meanwhile, Acting Director of Government Information Application Services (LAIP) of the Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Information (Kominfo), Aris Kurniawan, said that the activities of the National Smart City Forum are very important in the collaboration process and acceleration facilitation process.

The aim, apart from providing assistance, the Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Information also hopes that the potential in the regions can be developed more optimally.

"We hope that this Smart City Forum activity will be a place to share inspiration, share enthusiasm to continue collaborating to encourage increased investment, as well as strengthening the Indonesian economy according to the dimensions that exist in Smart City," said Aris. (rob)**
