Centralized SPALD is a management system carried out by collectively channeling domestic wastewater from the source to the Centralized Treatment Sub-system to be treated before being discharged into surface water bodies.

The Centralized SPALD is located in RW 06 Region, Gegerkalong Village, Sukasari District, Bandung City, the Acting Mayor (Plt) of the Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana inaugurated by signing his signature on Friday 31 December 2021.

According to Yana, the establishment of a Centralized SPALD in the area can benefit the community and become a role model for other regions.

"Hopefully the groundwater quality will also be good, because it reduces residents' domestic waste. Hopefully, because this was built by the community, the community can also participate in maintaining, maintaining the WWTP and continuing to function well," he said after the inauguration.

"Because this domestic waste problem remains a problem in big cities, hopefully the construction of this place will accelerate the process of achieving 100 percent ODF (Open Defecation Free) in Bandung City," he continued.

Yana also appreciated the development of a Centralized SPALD on which there is a public space, so that it can be followed by other regions so that the upper part of the SPALD can be utilized.

"We have seen that it has been more than 1 month that the WWTP has been functioning, does not smell, and can be used as a public space, here it is used for a children's play room, if in other places there is a RW Hall, there are other public facilities," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of West Java BBPW, Oscar R.H. Siagian admitted that his party took part in controlling Citarum watershed pollution, which caused many pollutions, one of which was domestic waste.

"In an effort to control Citarum watershed pollution, we use a structural and cultural approach. Here (the development of a Centralized SPALD), it is community-based," he said.

"This program is a joint program, and the Bandung City Government is also actively participating. We hope that support will continue with facilitation and assistance, so that the public's health status will also increase," he hoped.

On the same occasion, Dansector 22 of the Citarum Harum Task Force, Colonel Inf. Eppy Gustiawan said, the construction of the Centralized SPALD was a location point which was also one of the Citarum Harum programs.

"I hope that in the future this can be accepted by the community, cared for and maintained. So that in the future Bandung can become a healthy city by reducing domestic waste," he hoped.

Meanwhile, the Chairperson of Sauyunan Pisan KSM, Eden Gunawan, said that his party was trusted to build a Centralized SPALD with a budget of Rp. 500 million, and it could be realized through good collaboration with the community and the Region.

"This Sanimas is at least for the target of house connections that enter the SPALD is a minimum of 75 houses. Thank God this could be more, about 92 houses or 103 families that can be connected to this SPALD," he said.

"From all the techniques suggested or required by PUPR, we fully implement it like there is a grass trap for fat trapping. Almost every house is implemented, technically we carry out everything in the field," he added. (agg)**
