Public Relations Bandung monitors the face-to-face learning at SMP Negeri 43 Bandung. Since 06.30 WIB, students began to come one by one to school.

A total of 886 students seemed enthusiastic about undergoing PTM on the first day of semester 2.

Even though they had previously participated in face-to-face learning, this time for PTM it felt special. The reason is, for the first time they meet their school friends as a whole.

Muhammad Ragil, a grade 8A student for example. He admitted that he was excited about the first day of school.

"I have (PTM) but how many times during odd semesters. Now I'm happy to meet friends again," he said.

Two years dominated by online learning activities made most of the students feel bored. They want to immediately go to school and interact with their friends again.

"If I had to choose PJJ or PTM, obviously I chose PTM because I met friends," said Nadin Yanuar Eka Putri, a grade 8I student.

Meanwhile, the Principal of SMP Negeri 43 Bandung, Khaerawati explained, PTM at SMPN 43 Bandung runs according to the rules. He confirmed that the student vaccination rate had reached 90 percent.

"The total vaccination is 90 percent. The remaining 10 percent is because the student concerned has not been able to get vaccinated for health reasons," said Khaerawati.

Technically, the flow of students from entering school to disbanding has been arranged in such a way. There are 3 sessions to organize students to enter school to avoid crowds.

Grade 9 students are scheduled to enter at 07.00 WIB, grade 8 students enter at 07.40 WIB. Finally, grade 9 students entered at 08.20 WIB.

Upon arrival at school, students are directed to follow a kind of registration process. The students were asked for class data, then checked the temperature. This temperature check is also carried out when students come home from school later.

"Temperature checks when entering and leaving to ensure students are in a stable health condition," said Khaerawati.

As an anticipatory measure, SMPN 43 Bandung has prepared a UKS room for students who are not healthy. Khaerawati explained that students whose physical condition was not good would be rested at UKS.

"If within 30 minutes the condition has not shown improvement, we will ask parents to pick up their children," said Khaerawati.

The teachers of SMPN 43 Bandung are also ensured that they are ready and in excellent condition to provide lessons for students. They are ensured to be present in class so that learning takes place smoothly.

"The lesson ends at 13.00 WIB. For 6 hours and without break. It is in accordance with the instructions," he said.

Face-to-face Learning (PTM) on the first day at SMPN 43 Bandung was also reviewed by the Head of the Bandung City Education Office, Hikmat Ginanjar.

He emphasized that the city of Bandung is very ready to welcome PTM. Hikmat also mentioned the importance of PTM for students.

According to him, the transfer of knowledge from teachers to students will be maximized if it is done offline.

“These children need an example. The role model is the teacher, whom they can see directly in the classroom,” he said.

Hikmat also invites all parties to support the implementation of face-to-face learning in the city of Bandung. He also reminded all organizers to jointly oversee strict health protocols during PTM for the sake of mutual security and safety.

"In 2045 we welcome the demographic bonus. Support PTM activities and don't let children be confined at home," he said. (ray)**
