The Bandung Mother and Child Hospital (RSKIA) has officially become a Regional General Hospital (RSUD). Its name was changed to RSUD Bandung Kiwari.

The inauguration and name change was carried out by the Acting Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana on Tuesday 11 January 2022.

This transformation is the answer from the Bandung City Government to accelerate health services in the city of Bandung.

Yana said that the transformation of the Bandung Kiwari Hospital was in line with the acceleration of the services in it. Previously, this hospital was devoted to mothers and children only, now the Bandung Kiwari Hospital can serve patients in the general or adult category.

"Hopefully, with this increase, health services for the people of the City of Bandung will increase even more," said Yana at the Bandung Kiwari Hospital, Jalan KH. Wahid Hasyim Bandung, January 11, 2022.

He also emphasized that the facilities in this hospital are based on human values ​​and social functions. Therefore, the services in the hospital are also required to build relationships with the community.

After the transformation, RSUD Bandung Kiwari presents 3 service activities: Emergency Installation (IGD), Outpatient Services, and Inpatient Services.

In addition, there are 6 plans to increase the scope of service activities at outpatient polyclinics, which include: orthopedic specialists, eye specialists, urology specialists, psychiatric specialists, anatomical pathology specialists, and fertility centers.

Regarding facilities, RSUD Bandung Kiwari has 12 floors and 2 basement floors. On the 2nd ground floor, there is a laundry and burial area. Then on the ground floor 1 there is a nutrition installation and a food court.

Then on the 1st floor there is a laboratory, radiology installation including CT Scan, panoramic, and MRI. Data obtained by PR Bandung, the laboratory of RSUD Bandung Kiwari can complete 1,400 PCR samples in 24 hours.

On the 2nd floor there is an outpatient polyclinic and a pharmacy installation with drug availability. Then on the 3rd floor there is an executive medical rehabilitation poly that has started operating.

Then on the 4th floor there is a NICU facility with 15 beds, then a PICU (intensive care facility for children) with a total of 4 beds, then there is an ICU room with 18 beds and a sterilization room.

The 5th floor of the Bandung Kiwari Hospital building is used as an operating room. There are 9 operating rooms with a recovery room of 20 beds.

Meanwhile, the 6th floor of this building is used for administration room and command center. In addition, there is also the placement of medical records on a technology basis to avoid file accumulation.

On the 7th floor, there is a delivery room with 20 beds and a Perinatology facility with 40 beds.

The 8th to 11th floors of this building are used as inpatient rooms. There are 36 rooms for class 2 and 3 inpatients and 18 rooms for class 1 inpatients.

The inpatient facilities on floors 8 to 11 feature 6 beds for class 3 inpatients, then 3 beds for class 2 inpatients. Finally, the 12th floor functions as an executive inpatient room.

On the same occasion, dr. Obedient Tagore Diah R as Director of RSKIA Bandung (now RSUD Bandung Kiwari) said that modernization has become a must for any hospital. This includes equipment, facilities, and human resources.

"We're still chasing there. For example, in terms of medical records, now many use technology to reduce (physical) files," said Taat.

Regarding the coverage of BPJS health services, Obedient also ensures that this service can be enjoyed not only by mothers and children, but also by all adults.

"With the conversion (RSKIA to RSUD Bandung Kiwari), everyone can use BPJS while waiting for the administrative settlement as soon as possible. A maximum of three 3 days can be done. For non-BPJS general classes, they can operate from now on," he said.
