There is something different from the Gasmin Antapani Field, Bandung this time. In the eastern corner there is an open building measuring 9x5 meters. Complete with 24-hour wifi, chairs, toilets, and prayer rooms.

A very suitable place for Bandung youths to discuss creative ideas in building this flower city.

Exactly on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, Youth Space Antapani was inaugurated by Plt. Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana. In the inauguration of the 5th Youth Space owned by the City of Bandung, Yana expressed her hopes for the youth.

“This Youth Space is one of the promises of the late Mang Oded and I. Even in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, I hope that the youth in Bandung can remain creative. Continuing to innovate gives birth to ideas with the presence of this discussion room in the form of Youth Space," said Yana.

Yana added that the youth of Bandung City will not move alone to produce the best ideas for the progress of the City of Bandung. It takes good collaboration from all parties to advance Bandung through programs that are activated through this Youth Space.

“After all, the youth of Bandung are the hope for the future of the City of Bandung. Bandung City Government is always ready to collaborate with the entire community of Bandung City. I also ask for cooperation from the KNPI, Antapani District, and Bandung City Dispora," Yana said.

"Please make the best program to activate this Youth Space so that it can give birth to the best ideas for all of us, so that we can build a better Bandung," he added.

The development of Youth Space in Antapani has been carried out from October 11 to November 27, 2021. In the inauguration of Youth Space Antapani, the Head of the Bandung City Youth and Sports Office, Edy Marwoto, was also present.

Edy said that until now the City of Bandung has 11 Youth Spaces spread over seven sub-districts.

“Five of them have been inaugurated. Districts that already have Youth Space include Antapani, Kiaracondong, Gedebage, Ujungberung, Mandalajati, Coblong, and Andir Districts," said Edy.

Edi added that the plan is to activate 10 other Youth Spaces in 2022.

"We will first activate Youth Space in 10 sub-districts for this year. There are already a few that we will announce in the near future. The hope is that this Youth Space can spread to all sub-districts in Bandung, namely 30 sub-districts," said Edy.

Edy hopes that the presence of Youth Space in 30 sub-districts of Bandung City can develop the potential, capacity, self-actualization and aspirations of the youth of Bandung City.

"The development of this Youth Space is in accordance with Law no. 40 of 2009 concerning Youth. Hopefully with this Youth Space, we can realize the function and role of Bandung youth as agents of change," added Edy.

The implementation of this Youth Space activity, said Edy, will continue to be evaluated together with related parties, such as the Bandung City KNPI and the District SKPD.

Chairman of the Indonesian Youth National Committee (KNPI) Bandung City, Edwin Gaddafi also welcomed the development of Youth Space in seven sub-district points of Bandung City.

"We really appreciate the efforts of the Bandung City government to improve youth infrastructure with this Youth Space. As in development, we also need collaboration in maintaining and sustaining activities at Youth Space," said Edwin.

Edwin explained, to activate Youth Space to be more productive for Bandung youth, KNPI has created an activity program in the form of a focus group discussion (FGD) on regional-based youth pioneering.

"To activate Youth Space throughout the city of Bandung, we will schedule a regional-based youth pioneering FGD program. In this Youth Space, we will carry out these activities together with the youth," he said.

"Take a relaxed discussion about what steps we can take to play a role in advancing the people of the City of Bandung," explained Edwin.

The reason, Edwin explained, every sub-district in Bandung City has more than 35 percent of residents aged 16-40 years or youth age.

This data shows that the City of Bandung has the potential for a demographic bonus to increase the role of youth in development.

“We are not limited to being superior in quantity, but also in terms of quality. Youth must take a role in helping the government to make the people of Bandung happy," added Edwin.

Not only from the youth who welcomed the development of this Youth Space, the Head of Antapani, Rahmawati Mulia also expressed appreciation for the inauguration of the Youth Space in Antapani.

Rahmawati hopes that the presence of Youth Space in Antapani can create a creative Bandung through the role of Antapani youth.

"With this gathering place in the Youth Space, Antapani's young people can share ideas to help realize Antapani's dream to be better," said Rahmawati.

Some of Antapani's dreams described by Rahmawati are to build a Gasmin field in accordance with the concept and direction of the Bandung City Government, maintain river flows that pass through the Antapani area, and optimize the function of the Antapani terminal. (din)**
