Thursday morning, February 10, 2022, the Rosada Auditorium, Bandung City Hall, was already filled with people wearing Korpri batik clothes. They are 30 Candidates for Civil Servants (CPNS) from 814 people who will be sworn in in a few minutes.

That way, they officially become Civil Servants (PNS) this year. The activities of taking the oath and submitting the Decree (SK) of civil servants were carried out in a hybrid manner, namely within the network and outside the network to avoid crowds.

If you look at this number, civil servants still seem to be a dream job for some Indonesians. Acting (Plt) Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana also expressed his opinion on this matter.

"Being a civil servant is still the dream of some people because of the clarity of status and guaranteed income. That is why in every civil servant acceptance, the number of applicants is multiplied compared to the positions being contested," said Yana on the sidelines of her speech.

The journey to becoming a civil servant is not an easy matter. Yana explained that there are many series of basic education that CPNS must take to become civil servants with integrity, competence, and responsibility.

"They have attended education and training before being appointed as civil servants. The material obtained during education is a provision to carry out service," he said.

Yana hopes that these new civil servants will not only dwell on their work but can also make creative innovations in order to provide excellent service to the community. Especially in this industrial era 4.0, changes are very significant.

"Even at the public level, society also changes with the times. So, carry out your service sincerely. Don't be easily offended," said Yana.

"We as civil servants must also be able to follow these changes so that we can meet public expectations in the future," he added.

One of the PNS participants, Dera Baisa, expressed his happiness at this inauguration moment. He has been waiting for two years to take his oath to become a civil servant.

For him, being a civil servant is a pride that he has longed for.

"So PNS is a pride and also calmer because they have a fixed income. Hopefully, after becoming a civil servant I can be trusted and continue to serve the community," he said.

Dera said that before becoming a civil servant, he worked at a private clinic in Bandung. The difference is felt when working in the private sector and government agencies. Especially on the workload and its complexity.

"In the private sector, there are not too many patients. The work is also different. When in the private sector, they only provide assistance with doctors," he explained.

"When you become a civil servant in a government agency, there are more patients and the workload is also greater. We also have to be closer to patients because we need to provide education. The work becomes more complex," said Dera.

Dera is a CPNS participant in 2019. After passing and getting the 2020 CPNS decree, he started working as a dental nurse at the Special Dental and Oral Hospital (RSKGM) on Jalan Riau.

"This is my first attempt to join CPNS, and I immediately passed. It was my desire to become a civil servant. Thank God I also got support from my family," said Dera.

In this event, there were three categories of formations that were sworn in, namely teachers, health workers, and technical personnel in the city of Bandung. (din)**
