Yana: Retirement is the Beginning of a Career in a New Place
Plt. The Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana, appreciated the performance and dedication of the ASN during their time at the Bandung City Government. According to him, retirement is not the end to work.
The Bandung City Government (Pemkot) released a number of State Civil Apparatus (ASN) who were entering their retirement period. A total of 397 retired ASN participated in this event in a hybrid way (30 offline and 367 online).
In the event, Plt. The Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana, expressed his appreciation for the performance and dedication of the ASN during their time at the Bandung City Government. According to him, retirement is not the end of work.
"Retirement is not the end of the work period, but the beginning of a career in a new place," said Yana at Bandung City Hall, Thursday, February 24, 2022.
Yana also reminded retirees that the opportunity to serve the country is still open even if they no longer wear the ASN uniform.
For this reason, Yana also asked his staff at the Bandung City BPSDM to provide skills for retired ASN in the Bandung City Government.
"Because this 'second career' will work well if it is in accordance with your interests," he said.
Yana also advised retired ASNs to transfer their knowledge first before actually leaving their offices.
For information, these ASNs are still working in March and April because BPSDM releases 3 times in 2022.
On behalf of the Bandung City Government, Yana expressed her gratitude for the dedication and service of the ASN during their work. He said the ASN is part of the many awards received by the Bandung City Government.
Meanwhile, the retired representative, Cucu Saputra, expressed his gratitude to the Bandung City Government for protecting ASN and providing the best possible workspace. He hopes that the relationship will be maintained even though he is no longer in ASN uniform.
“Time and dedication are like a footbridge. The time that approaches can actually be an inscription and self-identity for ASN, "he said.
The man who once served as Secretary of the Bandung City Education Office also hopes that there will be spaces for retired servicemen to self-actualize and participate, especially in the development of the city of Bandung.
"Still want to stay in touch. There is no retirement for the young at heart," he said.
