The Bandung City Government Prepares Strategies for the Economic Recovery

The Bandung City Government will restore the economy of the City of Bandung which was affected by the Covid-19 pandemic by prioritizing economic development in 2023. The Acting Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana ensured that the Bandung City Government will continue to encourage increased job opportunities, people's purchasing power, poverty alleviation, and community economic empowerment.

The Bandung City Government will prioritize economic development in 2023. This is their efforts in recovering Bandung City’s economy after being affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

It was stated by the Acting Mayor of Bandung City, Yana Mulyana, when he closed the Musrenbang RKPD forum of Bandung City for 2023 in Grandia Hotel Bandung, Friday, 18 March 2022.

“The recovery in economic sectors after the Covid-19 pandemic is still our (the Bandung City Government) priority, as the economic growth at the end of 2020 was decreased -2,28%. Alhamdulillah, we recovered at 3,76% in 2021” Yana said.

“Certainly, it still brings several issues such as unemployment rate that reached 11,46%, and poverty rate that increaseed at 4,37% in 2021 according to the data from BPS in 2022,” he said.

Therefore, Yana ensured that the Bandung City Government would keep increasing employment rate, people’s purchasing power, poverty measurements, and people economic empowerment.

“It has been our firm decission that economic recovery is the utmost priority. So, (we) could provide people comfort and ease in their business and activities,” he said.

Yana hoped that the outcome of the RKPD of Bandung City for 2023 would be aspirative, pariticipative, and accomodative, becoming hope for all Bandung City residents.
