Recovering the Economy, the Bandung City Government Tries to Make Financial Access Easier for the Public

To make financial access easier for Bandung City residents, the Bandung City Government came with several innovations. Through the Tim Percepatan Akses Keuangan Daerah (TPAKD) or simply translates to Regional Team of Financial Access Acceleration, there are 6 programs acessible to the public.

To make financial access easier for Bandung City residents, the Bandung City Government came with several innovations. Through the Tim Percepatan Akses Keuangan Daerah (TPAKD) or simply translates to Regional Team of Financial Access Acceleration, there are 6 programs acessible to the public.

 

The programs are: Si Simpanan Pelajar, Kredit Usaha Rakyat, Bandung Melawan Rentenir, Program Bank Sampah (Kang Pisman), Buruan Sae, and Salapak Mircoshop. 

 

The Acting Mayor of Bandung City, Yana Mulyana, hoped that the programs initiated by the Bandung City Government would bring good news to the public in financial sectors.

 

He believed that in addressing various Covid-19 impacts, it required financial access for the public to make them more productive.

 

Additionally, financial services can also improve their role in regional economic development.

 

“TPKAD as the coordination forum between institutions becomes a vital role in providing open financial access to the public,” he said during the Pleno Meeting of TPAKD of Bandung City, in Papandayan Hotel, Thursday, 7 April 2022.

 

Yana said that TPAKD would create new innovations that would be more productive in developing the economy.

 

“In the future, financial agencies can participate actively in promoting regional development, particularly focusing on various economic potentials,” he said.

 

In the same place, the Assistant of Economy and Development of Bandung City, Eric M. Attauriq, said that TPAKD was a coordination forum for governmental agencies and related stakeholders for regional financial access.

 

Eric who was also the Vice of Coordinator II of TPAKD of Bandung City, hoped that the designed work program would accelerate the economic growth and promote social prosperity.

 

“One of its purposes is widening financial access to the public in promoting the economy of Bandung City,” he said.

 

Here are the 6 programs during 2022-2023:

 

1. Simpanan Pelajar Program. This is a program of the Bandung City Government that aims at making students have savings and promote financial literacy earlier.

 

The program can help achieve the financial inclusive target for 90% in 2024.

 

2. Kredit Usaha Rakyat Program. This program can help finance entrepreneurs as a means in recovering the economy affected by the Covid pandemic.

 

3. Bandung Melawan Rentenir. This covers data and information collection, illegal cooperative verification, and legal and social support for the public dealing with shark loans.

 

4. Bank Sampah (Kang Pisman) Program. It is to be implemented in schools so that students can become aware of the environmental conservation and independent in terms of their finance through saving money.

 

5. Buruan Sae. It optimizes fresh and processed products marketing through online and offline media. It can increase public concerns regarding supporting food security program.

 

6. Salapak Microshop. It is a marketing service for cooperative and MSMEs products, describing entrepreneurs’ featured products.

 

Every program has activities, results, and targets. So, related agencies are instructed to more actively participate in the activities.

 

Additionally, the Head of the Regional Financial Services Authority II of West Java, Indarto Budiwitono, ensured that Bandung City residents could acquire financial access based on their needs.

 

He hoped that the programs could make financial service agencies, be it bank or non-bank, to improve their role.

 

“It can be realized, we believe the key here is to widen financial access to the public and digitally financial products and services,” he said (yan)**
