Approaching the Eid Mubarak 1443 mudik, Polrestabes Bandung prepares for traffic engineering and 33 security posts and service posts.

This is because, according to the Head of Operation Division of Polrestabes Bandung, AKBP Asep Pujiono, mudik travellers would predictably increase three folds compared to in 2019.

“People are not ‘mudik’ for two years and now they are allowed to do so. There must be many people starting mudik a week before. We will prepare for the strength in personnel and posts,” Asep said on Wednesday, 13 April 2022 after the Bandung Menjawab event.

He further emphasized that the officers for Ketupat Operation would be placed in several crowded areas, such as airports, stations, and terminals to ensure mudik travellers’ security.

Additionally, Polrestabes Bandung will also provide 33 posts in several roads and tolls in Bandung City area. These posts will function as rest areas for mudik travellers.

Some of them are Pos Pam UPI, the north and south side of Stasiun Bandung, Sudirman St., Lengkong, Caringin, Citylink, Gedung Merdeka, Pasteur, Dago, and Gedung Sate.

Others are located in TSM St., Kiaracondong Station, Cicadas, Pusdai, BIP, Yogya Kepatihan, Cibiru Roundabout, Ujungberung, MIM, Bumi Mas Kencana, Alfamart Cinambo, Sukajadi, Ledeng Terminal, Metro Margahayu, Pacuan Kuda, Simpang Derwati Gedebage, and Cikapayang.

“They are also available in KM 147 rest area in Cileunyi area, Leuwipanjang Terminal, and Cicaheum. As for the contraflow, we will place it in Lembang area. For their borders, we will coordinate together with the closest areas to determine respective crowded areas,” he said.

Asep asked mudik travellers using two- or four-wheelers to be concerned with the vehicle’s capacity.

“Do not exceed the capacity. Especially, carrying things in a large number leading to overcapacity is prohibited. We will socialize this instruction to the public,” he said.

In addition to driving safety, Asep reminded of keeping in mind house’s condition before mudik.

“Before departing, it must be kept in mind. Lock your house, check the stove, turn off the electricity,” he asked.

He said that, during the Eid Mubarak, the police team would be patrolling routinely to ensure security of houses left for mudik. (din)**
