Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana asked all elements of society to help improve literacy. This is because literacy is one of the keys to improving human resources.

Yana said this during the inauguration of the Clavis Indonesia Store Concept, Saturday, May 28, 2022.

"Hopefully, Clavis and Big Publishers can help books to the reading corner and literacy corner in Bandung," he said.

He also appreciated the presence of the Calvis Indonesia Store Concept.

"I really appreciate and thank this place, hopefully the literacy culture in Bandung will increase," he said.

Yana said that in 2020 the reading literacy index in the city of Bandung was 74.76 percent.

He hopes that Clavis can help reading corners and literacy corners spread throughout the city of Bandung through various programs.

Yana assessed that theoretically the city of Bandung is included in the covid-19 endemic, it can encourage various literacy events.

"Hopefully we can all carry out activities as usual. This includes encouraging a reading culture and literacy culture in society," said Yana.

Meanwhile, CEO of Clavis Indonesia, Winda Aryani Susilo admitted that he would continue to help the Bandung City Government to improve literacy culture after the Covid-19 pandemic.

"We are ready to help the city of Bandung to support literacy in the city of Bandung post-pandemic today," said Winda.

"We can cooperate with the Belgian and Dutch governments and they are willing to provide cooperation programs," he continued.

Apart from being a shop, said Winda, the store concept will be used as a center for education and training as well as guidance for children and families for free.

"This is not only a shop, but also an education center, training and guidance for children and families for free," he said.

In addition, he also opened a program for teenagers to follow a writing program on an ongoing basis.

"Later we can publish the results," he said.

Clavis is an international publisher headquartered in Belgium. Clavis has sold books in more than 60 countries around the world.

The education center that was pioneered by Clavis through the store concept in Bandung is the first in Indonesia.

"Clavis Indonesia, the new store concept is in Bandung and will become a family education center. Every week there is free training so that children are directed and family relationships become closer," he said. (rob)**
