Safer Hunting for Food with Mini Lab Food Security and e-Wasmut

Growing up as a metropolitan city, food is a problem that Bandung City continues to accelerate. One of the innovations that have emerged is the Mini Lab Food Security and e-Wasmut.

In her presentation at the Presentation and Interview of the 2022 Public Service Competition, the Regional Secretary for the City of Bandung, Ema Sumarna explained, from the extraordinary food production in the City of Bandung.

So that food safety must be optimized. He firmly said that the government needs to guarantee that the food products consumed by the public are safe.

"Mini Lab Food Security has been running for quite a long time and has been going on consistently. When we want to provide information to the public, we need an application via e-Wasmut," said Ema, Wednesday, June 30, 2022.

"It is integrated so that people can get data through barcodes, complete data regarding whether (food in the market) is safe or not," he added.

To note, Mini Lab Food Security has been distributed to around 60 modern markets and around 34 traditional markets in Bandung City. Apart from that, the PKK and farmer groups were also present.

Technically, the supervision of fresh food safety through the provision of a Food Security Mini Lab in modern, traditional and regional markets uses 7 kinds of rapid tests.

Furthermore, the report of the examiner's results is reported through the WhatsApp group and online using the e-Wasmut application by accessing the ewasmut.bandung.go.id page with the user name and password for each mini lab.

On the same occasion, Gin Gin Ginanjar as the Head of the Bandung City Food and Agriculture Security Service (DKPP) hopes that the presence of the Food Security Mini Lab will make business actors obtain food guarantees in Bandung City in a condition that is safe for consumption.

"We have a relationship with PPNS and the Food Task Force. So if any indications are found (food is not safe for consumption), further tests will be carried out," said Gin Gin.

The action of this mini lab received appreciation and positive response. Several regions in Indonesia have adopted the concept of Mini Lab Food Security, such as in South Tangerang City and also Minahasa Regency.
