This was revealed in a discussion between the Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana and representatives of the two cities at Bandung City Hall, Tuesday, July 19, 2022.

In the discussion, Yana said that the potential that Bandung City has the most is services, tourism, and transportation.

"The city of Bandung does not have natural resources. But its human resources are very potential. We depend on tourism services," Yana explained.

He also said that the two cities in South Korea which are candidates for sister cities of Bandung City have high potential in the fields of technology and public transportation. So that it can be one of the aspects that will be collaborated.

"Initially we asked for cooperation in the aspect of manpower. Incidentally there is also an industrial city. But South Korea is also a city with good technology. Hopefully it can help train-based public transportation in the city of Bandung," he said.

He said the South Korean government plans to invite the Bandung City Government on October 13. However, Yana admitted that she is still reviewing her opportunities to go there.

"Of course we have to visit Gumi and Gimcheon to find out the characteristics of the city there. Hopefully it can be mutually beneficial between these two cities," he added.

Meanwhile, the Gumi City Transportation Construction Division, Lee Jeung Hwa said, before further cooperation, there should be an active discussion between the two parties.

"Not only in the early years of active communication. We must often discuss with each other to discuss what will be collaborated. The most important thing is that we are brothers first so that later we can work together more," said Lee.

Met at the same place, Gimcheon City Human Resources Division, Cha Dae Gun said, previously Gimcheon City had cooperated with Subang City for 6 years.

Collaborated aspects are community empowerment with trainings to improve skills.

"We also often hold cultural exchanges and festivals, maybe twice a year before the pandemic. But during the pandemic, it rarely happens," said Cha.

He added, for now, if you look at the characteristics of the city, Gumi City is more suitable to be a sister city with Bandung City.

"It is true that there are many technology industries in Gumi because the factories are there," he said. (din)**
