Therefore, Sharipah stated that she would cooperate with the Bandung City Government to develop the Smart City program in Petaling Jaya.

"PJ is very inspired by the Smart City of Bandung City. Therefore, the PJ Government wants to send 4 selected staff to be placed in the Bandung City Hall office to learn about smart cities in depth. Because the current systems must be more advanced," said Sharipah during a working visit to Bandung City Hall on Monday, August 8, 2022.

PJ's collaboration with the City of Bandung has been established since 2015. However, since the Covid-19 pandemic hit, the relationship between the two parties has been a bit passive. Now, PJ wants to re-establish various collaborations with the City of Bandung.

Several collaborations that have been established since 2015-2020 include arts and culture, education, trade, and technology.

"In 2019 we held a Youth Leadership Camp (YLC). There were 12 students from the City of Bandung who joined the YLC in Petaling Jaya. One of them was Nazma Alia Zahira. We were very impressed with her when she explained the transformation of education in Indonesia," he said.

He also admitted that he was very interested in the way business actors in the city of Bandung packaged their products.

"Then, from an entrepreneur perspective, I am also very interested in the way Bandung entrepreneurs pack their products. We want to learn more," he said.

Then, another potential that the PJ Government wants to exploit is the field of public facilities. According to him, the creativity of the city of Bandung is very visible from the 30 thematic parks that are spread out.

"I also see greater potential not only in the field of education and culture, but in all practical aspects, especially in terms of recycling and creating public places. There are more than 30 thematic parks. We also want to learn in depth about this," he added.

In response to this, the Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana hopes that the already well-established cooperation with PJ can be resumed.

He said, with this continued cooperation, it could improve the economy of the people of Bandung City by spreading its wings to the international arena.

"To increase the HR of this PJ, we can just discuss what offices will be doing internships at the Bandung City Government and vice versa. We also hope that our assisted MSMEs can spread their wings internationally," said Yana.

He also explained that currently the Bandung City Government is trying to create applications to reduce public service interactions during the pandemic. This app is integrated with BCC.

Based on this innovation, the Bandung City Government was included in the Top 50 Smart City Government Rankings released by the Eden Strategy Institute in March last year.

"Bandung is the only region in Indonesia that is in the top 50. We are ranked 28th, flanked by Sweden's Oslo (27th) and China's Hangzhou (29th)," he explained. (din)**
