To deal with this problem, the Bandung City Government (Pemkot) plans to build additional recharge wells or infiltration wells this year.

Head of the Division of Water Damage Control at the Bandung City Natural Resources and Highways Agency (DSDABM), Dini Dianawati, said that the construction of the Cibaduyut infiltration well for flood management has entered the stage of a cooperation agreement.

"The Bandung City Government and the Bandung Regency Government have agreed to fix Cibaduyut. Actually, in 2020 the Bandung City Government has also built recharge wells or deep absorption wells," said Dini to Bandung City Public Relations, Wednesday, September 14, 2022.

He continued, at that time there had not been much inundation. However, it turns out that the channel in Bandung Regency is getting narrower.

"We have conducted several surveys to deal with it with the district. They are also preparing a way to enlarge the drainage channel. But so far it has been realized," he said.

Therefore, the Bandung City Government continues to communicate intensively with the Bandung Regency Government regarding the improvement by building another infiltration well unit in the Cibaduyut area.

"It is still being surveyed, which point is the lowest location that can be built infiltration wells. The budget for this change has been prepared," he said.

Dini admitted that he had collaborated with the Ground Water Center for the construction of infiltration wells. So for the construction using an existing prototype.

"We only need an area of 6x4 meters to build an recharge well as deep as 100 meters to the ground water surface," he said.

After that, it will be checked again using a Geoelectric tool to see the depth of water that can be absorbed.

"We are also still surveying to find the right construction to do here," he said.

Not only the construction of infiltration wells, the Bandung City Government has also repaired drainage channels, and is intensely carrying out maintenance, dredging garbage, and patching roads.

"In Cibaduyut, the flood factor is mostly due to the clogging of garbage. Especially garbage that is difficult to decompose," he explained.

In addition, Dini also explained several locations that have the potential to become flood points this year besides Kopo Citarip and Cibaduyut.

"Usually in Cikadut, Ujungberung, Cingised, Gedebage. However, this rainy season, the sub-watershed (DAS) which has a large flow is in Citepus. This flow leads to Pagarsih, Astanaanyar, Babakan Jeruk," he explained. (din)**
