"I would like to thank the leaders of mass organizations, especially those based on religion and ethnicity, for their role so far. Let's continue to maintain religious harmony because this is part of building national unity and integrity," he explained.

Yana revealed that the sense of tolerance and mutual cooperation was felt when the Covid-19 pandemic hit the city of Bandung. All elements of society help each other and work together without seeing differences.

"I saw that during the pandemic, people helped each other regardless of religion and ethnic origin. It was felt that the unity of the people in the city of Bandung was well established," said the Mayor of Bandung,

This togetherness, he continued, cannot be separated from the role of leaders of religious organizations who have provided understanding and taught harmony as part of religious teachings.

According to him, this diversity is a source of strength for the people of Bandung City in carrying out development with the ultimate goal of realizing people's welfare.

"The community must continue to increase their vigilance, especially regarding the spread of negative hoaxes. This has the potential to divide and damage religious harmony," he explained.

Yana said, for the community, religious leaders are a place to ask questions. Of course, it is everyone's obligation to remind the community and people not to be provoked by irresponsible incitement.

"Let's all have social sensitivity to maintain security and order. Especially now that the number of sufferers of Covid-19 is increasing due to a new variant that spreads more quickly," he said.

Apart from that, ahead of the democracy festival, Yana invited community leaders to be successful while also maintaining security and order in the city of Bandung to remain conducive.

"Later facing a democratic party in February 2024 and simultaneous local elections (November 2024), of course we hope to be able to increase citizen participation in giving their choices. That is an endeavor in a democratic party," he explained. (yan)**
