Cianjur Regent Receives Bandung City Government Assistance Directly, Regional Secretary: Hopefully it will be useful

A total of 12 aid trucks and Rp. 500 million in cash collected by the Bandung City Government (Pemkot) were handed over directly by the Regional Secretary of Bandung City, Ema Sumarna to the Regent of Cianjur, Herman Suherman at the Cianjur Regency Hall, Monday 28 November 2022.

The types of assistance provided included clothes, blankets, groceries, snacks, sandals, milk, headscarves, children's shoes, suitcases, medicines, toiletries, platoon tents, mineral water and mattresses.

Ema said that on behalf of the Bandung City Government, we are sorry for the earthquake that hit Cianjur Regency.

"We are deeply concerned. We feel what the brothers in Cianjur are feeling," he said.

Ema stated that the Bandung City Government will continue to be committed to contributing to every disaster that occurs, including the Cianjur earthquake.

"On the night after the earthquake, we sent 20 ambulances from 14 hospitals. We also sent a Diskar PB rescue team," he said.

Previously, the Bandung City Government had also sent ambulances, specialist doctors, general practitioners, nurses, and pharmacy staff.

In addition, the Bandung City Government through the Social Service has also established a public kitchen since Saturday, November 26, 2022 in Sukamanah Village, Karang Tengah District, Cianjur Regency.

"We have also set up a public kitchen which has been running for two days. We feel that Cianjur is our brother and helps each other," said Ema.

Ema hopes that the various assistance that has been sent by the Bandung City Government can lighten the victim's burden and be of benefit.

"Hopefully it will be well received by the community," he said.

For this, the Cianjur Regent Herman Suherman appreciated the various assistance that had been provided by the Bandung City Government. Not to forget, he asked for prayers from the entire community so that the situation would recover quickly.

"I express my highest gratitude and appreciation to the Bandung City Government for your attention to us. Please pray for all the people of the city of Bandung, so that we can recover quickly," said Herman.

Herman revealed, out of 32 sub-districts in Cianjur Regency, 16 sub-districts were affected by the earthquake.

Until now, Monday 28 November 2022 the death toll from the earthquake reached 320 people. While the number of affected buildings reached 56,000 buildings. As many as 23,000 buildings were heavily damaged, the rest were slightly and moderately damaged.

"There are 14 of our residents who until now have not been found," he said.

He hopes that similar natural disasters will not happen again and cause casualties.

"Hopefully it won't happen again. Bandung City and Cianjur Regency can be safe and orderly," he hoped. (rob)**
