Yana Greets the Flood and Traffic Congestion Handling Infrastructure Positively in the City - Regency of Bandung

For information, the Central Government inaugurated the 4 infrastructures, including the Kopo Fly Over in Bandung City, Cieunteung Retention Pool, Andir Retention Pool, and Cisankuy Floodway in Bandung Regency, Sunday 5 March 2023.

Kopo Fly Over Inaugurated
Apart from that, Jokowi also inaugurated the Kopo Fly Over infrastructure in the city of Bandung. This infrastructure is present as an effort to control congestion in the city of Bandung.

The Secretary of the Bandung City Transportation Service (Dishub) Khairur Rijal said, after being functioned at the end of 2022, the presence of the Kopo Fly Over had a significant impact on the continuous speed of vehicles from the east of Bandung City to the west, or vice versa.

"There are no longer any obstructions by two signalized intersections, namely Kopo - Soekarno Hatta, and Cibaduyut - Soekarno Hatta," he explained.

On the other hand, Rijal said that there was still a high density of vehicles from the south and north in the fly over area during the peak hours of traffic flow in the morning and evening.

In this regard, security will coordinate with the Ministry of PUPR's National Road Management Center, which will technically allow for arrangements or engineering at the foot of the intersection under the Kopo Fly Over.

"Hopefully we can solve the problem of traffic peak hours in the morning north and south in the near future," he said.

Rijal added, currently being adapted is also evaluating traffic conditions in the east and west areas after the fly over. Namely at the Mekarwangi intersection (east) and the Caringin intersection (west).

This is because traffic congestion often occurs at the two legs of the intersection.
