The Head of DLH Bandung City, Dudi Prayudi said, the activity of planting rare trees has a number of important benefits. Among other things, helping to preserve the biodiversity of endangered tree species.

"By planting them, we can help ensure that they continue to exist for future generations to enjoy," said Dudi.

In addition to its ecological value, Dudi also said that rare trees have important cultural and historical significance. Dudi said rare trees have been used for centuries in traditional medicine for building materials or for other purposes.

Apart from planting symbolically, he hopes that there will be a propagation of these plants afterwards. Representatives of regional and regional apparatus organizations (OPD) who attended this event were welcome to bring plant seeds home to be planted.

"Later after this planting, hopefully later each OPD or from the region can get these plant seeds and please plant them in their respective offices," he said.

He hopes that more rare plant species will be planted by DLH Bandung City as an effort to preserve them from the threat of extinction.

“Trees and greenery are an important thing. Not only does it play an important role in our ecosystem, but it also plays a role in aesthetic historical culture which is very important to be preserved and protected," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Bandung City DLH Environmental Management Sector, Siti Khodijah said, in addition to conservation efforts, this planting activity is an effort to provide educational facilities, research, and science development from tourism.

Apart from that, the presence of rare plants in this Biodiversity Park also acts as an object in green open spaces as well as planting vegetation cover.

He revealed, in this planting activity, DLH Bandung City collaborated with related OPDs and also Pasundan University (Unpas)

"This planting involves 49 students (Unpas) who will help maintain the plants," he explained.

He hoped that after the symbolic planting, all OPDs in the Bandung City Government could carry out the same preservation in their respective offices.

For information, apart from planting rare trees, this activity is also filled with visiting gardens and tasting fruit harvests in the Biodiversity Park area. (ray)**
