He said that as many as 706 personnel were alerted to monitor Eid transport operations which would be carried out on D-7 to H+7 of Idul Fitri 1445 Hijriah.

Apart from that, the Bandung City Transportation Agency will also hold safety inspections or ramp checks at Leuwipanjang Terminal and Cicaheum Terminal on April 3-18 2024. Supervision will be tightened at the Bandung City Bus Pool from March 27 to April 2 2024.

"Eid transport vehicles must meet roadworthy and operational aspects. Roadworthy means the vehicle is fit to carry passengers. Operationally fit means the documents and administrative aspects of the vehicle are also fit to carry passengers," he said in Bandung Answers at City Hall, Thursday March 28, 2024.

At the initial stage of the safety inspection, Asep confirmed that so far Eid transport vehicles in Bandung City still met these two aspects of fitness. He ensured that this process would continue to provide a sense of security and comfort for travelers.

Asep underlined that there are four factors that can cause major Eid transport accidents. These include aspects of the vehicle, driver, road and weather.

"Don't let major accidents happen. No matter how small there is a roadworthiness or operational factor, we will not let it pass," he explained.

On the other hand, Asep also highlighted the preparations of officers to guard Bandung City traffic. A total of 500 Transportation Agency personnel will be deployed at 10 guard posts and 38 potential congestion points during the Idul Fitri 1445 Hijri holiday.

This is also an effort, considering that during the Idul Fitri 1445 Hijriah holiday, the Bandung City Transportation Department predicts that there will be a spike in the number of homecoming travelers ranging from 2-3 percent compared to last year.

Regarding the Eid transport bus fleet, the Bandung City Transportation Agency confirmed that 561 fleets would serve Eid transport on 16 routes, with details of 248 Inter-Provincial Vehicle Transport (AKAP) serving 8 routes, and 313 Intra-Provincial Transport Vehicles (AKDP) serving 8 routes.

This amount is also guaranteed to be sufficient for the needs of travelers in Bandung City during this year's Eid.

"It is almost certain that there will be no fleet shortage," explained Asep.

In closing, Asep appealed to people who will return home for Eid this year to ensure that their vehicles are in roadworthy and operational condition to anticipate undesirable events.

"Ensure the roadworthiness of your vehicle. Don't ever dare to go home with a vehicle with bald tires," he advised. (ray)**
