From the monitoring results, the price of bulk cooking oil began to decline and was in line with the highest retail price (HET), which was Rp. 15,500 per kilogram or Rp. 14,500 per liter.

This was conveyed by the Head of Trade Distribution and Metrological Supervision of the Bandung City Department of Industry and Trade, Meiwan Kartiwa, to the Bandung City Public Relations team, Friday 1 July 2022.

The encouraging thing is that bulk cooking oil is in accordance with HET.

"Like in Kosambi Market, the price is in accordance with HET. Even if there are those who sell at high prices, most of them are appropriate," said Meiwan.

As for the prices of other basic commodities, Meiwan said, there was still an increase, especially in the types of chili and shallots. For example, red cayenne pepper is still at Rp. 100,000 per kilogram.

Meanwhile, curly red chilies have dropped to Rp. 65,000 per kilogram. However, there are still some traders who sell IDR 100,000 per kilogram.

"For cape red chilies, there are also those that sell for Rp. 65,000 per kilogram, but there are still many who sell Rp. 95,000," he explained.

In addition, the sale of shallots also varies in price from one market to another. Meiwan said the price range of shallots per kilogram starts from Rp. 40,000 to Rp. 60,000.

Meanwhile, chicken eggs are in the price range of Rp. 27,000-Rp. 30,000 per kilogram.

"Beef is actually still the same as yesterday, yes, at Rp. 130,000-Rp. 140,000 per kilogram. While chicken meat is still at Rp. 38,000 - Rp. 40,000 per kilogram," he added.

According to Meiwan, the increase in the price of basic commodities is still due to weather factors. Even so, he guarantees, the stock of basic needs will remain safe for the upcoming Eid.

"Actually, Eid al-Adha is the purchase of stock of goods, unlike Eid. Most likely, during Eid al-Adha, other needs are increasing, such as charcoal and skewers. Because usually they are 'nyate' together," he said. (din)*
