"We sell the eggs for Rp. 24,000/kg. Meanwhile, in the market, it is still at Rp. 28,000/kg. Earlier, the information in Rancasari stated that the 100 kg of eggs that we prepared were sold out," said Meiwan, Monday, September 19, 2022.

He explained, the prices in this Cheap Market are all below the traditional market prices. Some of the main commodities sold include shallots, garlic, eggs, cooking oil, sugar, rice, and several other necessities such as soap and 3 kg LPJ gas.

"There are 18 sub-districts that sell 3 kg of LPJ gas. Then we will also see whether the sub-districts need it or not? Like today, only Kiaracondong has proposed to sell 3 kg of gas," he said.

For the price, Meiwan said, red onions in each location are sold for Rp. 28,000/kg, while in the market it can reach Rp. 30,000-Rp. 35,000/kg.

Garlic is sold for Rp. 24,000/kg. While in the market Rp25,000-Rp30,000/kg.

"Then, we sell oil for Rp. 13,000, while in the market it is Rp. 14,000/liter," he explained.

It is planned that in a week, the Cheap Market will be available on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 09.00-14.00 WIB.

"Except on September 30, there is a Cheap Market on Friday, namely Astanaanyar District," he added.

At each point of the Cheap Market location, there are 10 tents provided by Disdagin. About 6-7 tents are used for selling. Then the rest is used for vaccine facilities and SME cooperative services in each sub-district.

In this Cheap Market, the Bandung City Government synergizes with various parties, such as Bulog, Wilmar, CV Bagus, and Indomarco.

In addition, he added, people from outside the sub-district can also go shopping. Because this cheap market will also be opened in 30 sub-districts throughout the city of Bandung.

"As originally intended, this Cheap Market is held to help people who are affected by the increase in fuel prices. People can get some basic goods or commodities that are cheaper than the current market price," he explained.

He said, this activity received an injection of funds from the Bandung City Budget amounting to Rp544 million.

"This budget is used to facilitate tents, eat and drink for the participants, and socialize in 30 sub-districts," he said.

One of the residents who participated in shopping for basic needs at the Cheap Market was Lilis, a resident of RW 2, Sukapura Village, Kiaracondong. He came with his son since 08.00 WIB.

After a long queue, he managed to buy 25 kg of rice, cooking oil, and eggs.

"The price is cheaper. Here, 5 kg of rice costs Rp. 42,000. In the market it is Rp. 95,000. I bought up to five bags of rice," said Lilis.

While his son he assigned to queue to buy eggs. The price offered is also cheaper than the market.

"In the market, it is Rp. 32,000/kg. Here, it is Rp. 24,000/kg," he said.

With the Cheap Market, Lilis feels helped because the price is very affordable when all current needs are skyrocketing. (din)**
