The Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana, really appreciates the addition of new public open spaces. He hopes that after the Covid-19 pandemic, the open space can increase the community's happiness index.

"Not only arranging riverbanks, but we also present open spaces around them. Hopefully, it can increase the community's happiness index," said Yana.

In addition, he said, the return of community activities as before, could help accelerate the process of post-Covid-19 economic recovery.

"Because there could be an increasing economic sector here. Hopefully this can be used and maintained so that we develop thematic places for other communities. The point is we open other public spaces that can be used by the community," he said.

Meanwhile, Head of the Department of Water Resources and Highways (DSDABM), Didi Ruswandi said that the river arrangement pattern in the city of Bandung was conceptualized at the same time as the construction of public open spaces.

"This time it is located at RT 7 RW 8 Antapani Kidul. Then, on November 16, we will also inaugurate the vandal room and river border, the Citepus river on Jalan Soekarno Hatta," said Didi.

After that, on November 26, Ciko Arena 2 and 3 along with the arrangement of the river border will be inaugurated. There is a mini volleyball and a play area for children.

"Meanwhile, on December 3, in Rancabolang we will also present an open space there and the arrangement of the river," he added.

The C-Bodas RC Circuit will be managed by the West Java RC Community. Yunan Raditya, Head of the RC Kabar Community said, this open space can also be used for the general public who want to jog or have recreation.

"Because this is a public space, so it's not limited to being used by the RC community. Everyone can use it. But indeed we will make a regular schedule every Sunday from 09.00-15.00 WIB for the RC competition to be held," said Yunan.

While routinely, the RC Community will use this facility from Friday-Sunday starting at 15.00-21.00 WIB.

"The planning design was from all of us, the government provided the land. So the management and maintenance was returned to us," he explained.

"Especially for those who want to play RC, they will be charged Rp. 35,000. The fee will return to the track as cleanliness and security," he added.

According to him, the 100 x 14 meter track provided by the Bandung City Government is very feasible to be used as a national scale event. In fact, the plan is that there will be a National scale RC event here on November 12.

There are several RC's that are commonly played or matched here, such as the D12 pickup, 1/10 scale class, and 1/12 scale class.

"Hopefully there will be high interest from friends outside the city and can bring the good name of the city of Bandung. Hopefully after this there will be more popping up from other agencies to see the potential of the young people of Bandung," he hoped.

To maintain the security and order of the circuit, every day there will be officers on duty here. The officer will guide if anyone wants to use the open space.

"For the asphalt track itself, it is a national standard. This is the first time since in Indonesia the government has facilitated something like this very seriously," he admitted. (din)**
