The Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana, said that the role of ulama and umara is very important for the development of the city of Bandung to make it even better.

"Without friendship and cooperation, it is impossible for us to be able to build the city of Bandung to this day. We must continue to cooperate in an effort to build a good city of Bandung to be even better in the future," said Yana.

According to him, this can only be realized if there is a good ukhuwah bond between the government and the ulama and umara.

"This can only happen if the ulama and umaro are with us forging a very good bond," he continued.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Bandung City MUI, Miftah Faridl hopes that this gathering can continue. Even good cooperation can continue to the lowest level.

Moreover, in a week we will meet the Holy Month of Ramadan. He explained, the Prophet Muhammad SAW said to be happy in welcoming Ramadan.

"The Prophet said, be happy because you will meet the most blessed month. When every virtue gets the greatest reward compared to the months before Ramadan," explained Miftah.

In fact, in his calculations, the reward for charity in the month of Ramadan will be doubled by 70 times when compared to the same worship in months other than Ramadan.

He also underlined that the fasting rituals which are carried out during Ramadan are not only talking about enduring hunger and thirst. However, it must be a quality saum.

"Quality fasting, apart from fulfilling the legal requirements of fasting to get a reward, is also capable of bringing about changes within us. So that we become more pious people," he explained.

Because the benchmark for quality fasting will actually be seen after fasting ends. There is an increase in piety or not in a Muslim.

"In it there is a content of improving quality and morals. Preventing evil and unjust acts. One of the results of fasting is being honest because this is the most difficult practice," he admits. (din)**
