Chatting at the Museum: Getting to Know Bandung and Its Environment

As an effort to activate the Bandung City History Museum after the Covid-19 pandemic, the Bandung City Culture and Tourism Office (Disbudpar) held a Chatting event at the Museum.

This time, the event was held at the Bandung City History Museum, Jalan Aceh, Friday 12 May 2023. The theme for the chat at the Museum this time was "Getting to Know Bandung & Its Environment".

The resource person who attended the Chat at Museum #2, namely Prof. Dr. R.P. Koesoemadinata (Professor Emeritus of ITB Geology) and Pepep D.W., M.Sn. (ISBI Lecturer/Indonesian Mountain Society Foundation). During the discussion session, this activity was also guided by the moderator, namely Oki Turatula N. W., M.Hum.

The Head of the Cultural Studies Division represented by the Working Group on Cultural Heritage and Museums Section, Aceng Ismatuloh revealed that apart from introducing the history of the city of Bandung, this activity also aims to activate the history museum of the city of Bandung which will soon be reopened to the public.

In the discussion, it began with a presentation from Prof. Koesomadinata who revealed the various artifacts found around the Bandung highlands. One of them is obsidian, of which several collections are now stored in the Bandung Geological Museum.

Then it was Pepep's turn to discuss Bandung and mountain civilization.

About 50 participants enthusiastically participated in this event. It was proven that during the debriefing, the participants were very enthusiastic to answer and provide feedback.
