Construction of Cihampelas Terrace Stage 2 is Underway, Here's the Concept
The Bandung City Government (Pemkot) continues the construction of the Cihampelas Terrace. The construction is planned to be completed in September.
This was disclosed by Acting Mayor of Bandung Ema Sumarna when reviewing the progress of the Skywalk construction. Ema is optimistic that the development will go well and will invite visitors again. So that Cihampelas Terrace will return to activities.
"We must be optimistic. This is part of reactivation. If it is maximum, it will invite visitors again and economic activity will return," said Ema, Friday, June 9, 2023.
In order for the reactivation to run optimally, Ema said, the construction of the Cihampelas Terrace through the Bandung City Water Resources and Highways Service (DSDABM) will present various contemporary concepts divided into four area zones in an area with a total area of 500 meters.
"Zone A has a catwalk area prepared for creators in the fashion sector in the city of Bandung. I want it because this is an open space, so it must withstand rain and sun," he explained.
"Meanwhile, Zone B will be prepared for RC (Remote Control) lovers. This will be a spectacle for visitors so that it will have implications for the street vendors here," he added.
Meanwhile, in Zone C there will be Coworking Space and historical dioramas to educate tourists who are present in the area.
"Transfer of knowledge and skills, a place will be provided. We will present a historical diorama of the city of Bandung," he said.
Finally, in Zone D, the plan is to provide drone race enthusiasts.
For this reason, Ema reminded the contractor that each of these zones must be supported by the availability of public facilities for the convenience of visitors.
Just to note, the Cihampelas Terrace of the City of Bandung is a proud urban planning megaproject. The project with the skywalk concept was initiated when Ridwan Kamil became the Mayor of Bandung.
At that time, the auction value of the Teras Cihampelas skywalk project reached IDR 48 billion. Then it was inaugurated in 2017. Then, continued the construction of phase II with a project value of IDR 2,75 billion. (sya)**
