Flyover Ciroyom Segera Dibangun, Pemkot Bandung Harapkan Komitmen Bersama

In order to complete the smooth running of the Jakarta Bandung Fast Train (KCJB), the Bandung City Government (Pemkot) reviewed the location points where the Ciroyom flyover will be built.

The Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Bandung City, Ema Sumarna with the team of the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transportation of West Java Province and related regional work units along the roundabout of Jalan Arjuna, Aruna and Ciroyom, Tuesday, February 15, 2022.

Shops for repair shops and military equipment line this street. There is also a narrow market and some squatter settlements that stand on the side of the railway line.

In this area, a 700 meter long flyover will be built as an effort to overcome the surge in vehicles that occurred when KCJB was operating.

However, Ema emphasized that the government and the community need to be committed together to find the best solution for the obstacles that will occur in the future.

"There are several areas that we have to acquire land for. But, as we can see there, there are many people who carry out business activities, there are also people's houses. We must first confirm what the relocation scheme will be. Don't let the community be harmed, ' said Emma.

Therefore, Ema directed, the sub-district and village heads need to record the number of residents affected by the construction of this flyover. Starting from the type of business to the number of legal houses affected.

"This negotiation process must be carried out. There must be a mutual commitment because this talks about long-term benefits and interests. Do not let us solve problems with problems," he said.

Meanwhile, Head of the DJKA Planning Division at the West Java Ministry of Transportation, Ari Yudanto explained, the Ciroyom flyover will be built starting from 2022 and is targeted for completion in 2023.

"This flyover scheme will be made to rotate from Arjuna to Ciroyom. From our calculations with development consultants, a scheme like this will save construction costs more and not too many areas will be affected," said Ari.

Even though it seems sudden, according to Ari, the construction of this flyover needs to be done to support the KCJB activation timeline.

"Because KCJB will be tested in November. Meanwhile, the target for the use of public operations will be in June 2023. So, we really need to work on this flyover as soon as possible," he added.

Responding to the issue of the flyover that will cross his area, the Head of Ciroyom Village, Moch. Agus F admitted that he would participate in guarding and outreach to the community regarding this program.

"We will support this government program and disseminate it to the community, so that the citizens of Ciroyom can fully understand this development," said Agus.

He revealed, if the land which will later become the work of the flyover project around Ciroyom is 100 percent owned by PT. Indonesian Railways (KAI) which is currently still used by the public.

"Of course we need to take steps to handle social impacts in accordance with Presidential Regulation 62 of 2018. We will coordinate this with the community as well as KAI," he said.

One of the residents of Ciroyom Edi Sutedi hopes that the construction of this flyover can present the best solution, not only for the KCJB project but also for the surrounding community.

Because, at the point where the flyover will be built, it is now a source of income for local residents. There are many stalls and workshops that support the life of the people there.

"I support this development. However, I also hope that the community should not be harmed. Even though this land belongs to the government, we also ask for the best solution for our future," he said. (din)**
