Right on the commemoration of National Music Day, Wednesday, March 9, 2022, the City Government (Pemkot) of Bandung together with Gojek gave an appreciation to 65 musicians of the City of Bandung.

This appreciation is given to help musicians who are also affected by the socio-economic impact in the midst of the pandemic.

The Acting Mayor (Plt) of the Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana said, with the condition of the City of Bandung which is currently at level 3 of the Enforcement of Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM), it will certainly limit the space for musicians to move.

"PPKM level 3 does not allow musicians to express their work through live performances in Bandung," said Yana.

However, Yana hopes that, even in the midst of limitations, musicians can still accelerate economic recovery in the city of Bandung through the art of music.

"Hopefully this form of appreciation can help fellow musicians in the midst of the socio-economic impact in the city of Bandung. Continue to be enthusiastic about working by utilizing digital media at this time," he hoped.

Responding to National Music Day, Gojek Bandung Raya District Head, Faris Priyanto said, the appreciation given by Gojek and the Bandung City Government was a form of the spirit of collaboration to provide wider social benefits.

"The spirit of collaboration that we carry with the Bandung City Government is a form of appreciation for the musicians of the City of Bandung through National Music Day," said Faris.

Faris added, these 65 musicians came from various lines. Starting from those who are new to the world of music, to art workers who are already seniors.

"All of them are musicians who have been economically affected by the pandemic. Hopefully, this appreciation can create services, improve the economy, and provide wider social benefits," he added.

The presentation of appreciation for the musicians in the city of Bandung was given symbolically to Yahya Fadhilah, one of the young musicians in the city of Bandung.

The singer and composer of the song "Keep You Safe" really appreciates the attention that the City Government and Gojek have given to musicians in the city of Bandung.

"As a musician in Bandung, I am very happy because we have been noticed and appreciated by the City Government and Gojek. During this pandemic, I also hope that we can work even more through digital media," Yahya said. (din)*
