The Bandung City Government (Pemkot) through the Department of Trade and Industry (Disdagin) held a market operation for bulk cooking oil at Ciwastra Market, Monday, March 21, 2022. In this market operation, one liter of bulk cooking oil is sold for Rp. 13,000.

This bulk cooking oil is distributed to traders. The Bandung City Government recommends this cooking oil to be sold to the public at a price of Rp. 14,000.

This market operation is a collaboration between the Bandung City Government and the Central Government and the Provincial Government of West Java. At Ciwastra Market, there are 1,000 liters of bulk cooking oil distributed out of a total of 10,000 liters.

While reviewing the cooking oil market operation, Bandung City Secretary Ema Sumarna said that the beneficiaries of this cooking oil market operation targeted around 370 people.

Ema hopes that there is a joint commitment from the sellers to sell cooking oil at the recommended price.

"The directions are clear, they are given the opportunity to buy at Pasar Operation for Rp. 13,000. So we remind them to sell for Rp. 14,000. Even though the majority I meet here, they buy oil to sell like fried foods," said Ema.

Meanwhile, Head of Disdagin Bandung City, Elly Wasliah said, bulk cooking oil is a type of cooking oil that still has subsidies from the central government, so the highest retail price must be sold as recommended.

"The recommended HET is Rp. 14,000 per liter or Rp. 15,500 per kilogram," he explained.

He also ensured that there were no indications of hoarding of cooking oil in Bandung. This was conveyed based on the results of the monitoring of 12 teams from Disdagin Bandung City to 44 cooking oil distributors in Bandung City.

"We have deployed a team of 12 teams to 44 distributors and it is confirmed that there will be no hoarding," he explained. (ray)**
