"This is an effort to protect the environment, to keep Bandung's air better," said Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana when opening the Free Emissions Test and launching a Clean Emissions Area in the Bandung City Hall parking area, Wednesday 27 July 2022.

It is hoped that this program will have an impact on reducing air pollution in the city of Bandung.

"Vehicles that do not have stickers will not be allowed to enter and park in the City hall area," Yana said.

Yana also invited the public to take advantage of the free emission test held by the Bandung City Government for two days, 27-28 July 2022.

"Anyone for two free days is welcome to do an emission test. In particular, all ASN vehicles are mandatory, yes, for the public it is also allowed," he said.

"For residents to take part or carry out an emission test at the city hall for two days or at the nearest workshop, so that they pass the emission test so that we together protect the environment and the air quality of the city of Bandung is getting better," he added.

Meanwhile, Plt. Head of Transportation and Facilities at the Bandung City Transportation Agency, Asep Kurnia, targets 600 vehicles to be tested for emissions in two days of implementation.

"We are targeting approximately 300 vehicles per day," he said.

Asep said, for people who want to carry out vehicle emission tests, they can visit 52 workshops in the city of Bandung that have collaborated with the Bandung City Government to carry out emission tests.

"Actually, we have 52 emission test workshops, so the public for private cars can conduct emission tests in 52 emission test workshops in Bandung," he said.

For people who want to conduct emission tests at Bandung City Hall, Asep said, they only need to bring their vehicle and vehicle registration.

"Bring a vehicle, the same STNK is shown," he said.

The implementation of the free emission test was enthusiastically welcomed by the residents. One of them is Ferry, a resident of Ujungberung who has come since this morning to test his vehicle's emissions.

"Let's take part in government programs, not pollute the environment either. For the Bandung city government, I appreciate this event. I participate every year, I'm also happy because it's free," he said.

"It can be continued every year, this is my third emission test here. Alhamdulillah, it is very useful," he added.

For Wargi who have not carried out vehicle emission tests, the Bandung City Government through the Environment Service along with the Transportation Service and the Indonesian Workshop Association provides a Free Emissions Test.
