HJKB Logo Officially Released, Here's What It Means

The Bandung City Government (Pemkot) officially launched the logo for the 212th Anniversary of the City of Bandung (HJKB), Friday 29 July 2022. This logo was chosen through a competition organized by the Department of Culture and Tourism (Disbudpar).

The logo concept consists of the number 212 as the age of the City of Bandung which is made to form one of the endemic animals or animals that characterize the city of Bandung, namely the Kutilang bird or commonly known as Manuk Cangkurileung.

While the color elements represent the Bandung City Government flag, namely blue, yellow, and green.

This year's HJKB logo is the work of Dani Nugraha. He managed to eliminate 256 designs that entered from mid-June to July 2022.

Under the logo is equipped with the tagline 'Bangkit Bersama for Bandung Champion'.

The overall shape of the logo is like a manuk cangkurileung which is a symbol of hospitality.

Mayor of Bandung Yana Mulyana said the process of selecting the HJKB design was not easy, his party admitted that they had to be really selective in determining the 212th HJKB Logo.

"It's not easy, everything is good and has a philosophy, so we determine the best. From an artistic and philosophical perspective," Yana Mulyana said at the Pullman Bandung Grand Central Hotel Friday, July 29, 2022.

Yana revealed, the logo of the 212th HJKB that formed the Cangkurileung manuk really describes the Bandung people who are known as Someah. Not only that, Cangkurileung is also a symbol of creativity in line with the city of Bandung which is known to be creative.

"Bandung people are known to be friendly and kind and creative, manuk cangkurileung also represents the togetherness and cohesiveness of the Bandung City Government and its people in solving the pandemic," he said.

According to Yana, the tagline 'Bangkit Bersama for Bandung Champion', has a message that emphasizes the latest condition of the City of Bandung, which is approaching the 212th Anniversary which is commemorated every September 25, which is a momentum for revival after being affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

"Gotong Royong is the key word in facing obstacles in the city of Bandung after this pandemic, we must be more compact and more creative," explained Yana.

The tagline is also in line with the theme of the 212th HJKB this time, namely "Finish the Pandemic, Rise Together for the Champion of Bandung".

In the inauguration of the HJKB 212 Logo, the Bandung City Secretary, Ema Sumarna, Head of the Bandung City Tourism and Culture Office Arief Syaifudin along with Forkopimda and other related OPDs were present.

To note, the selection process was carried out strictly by three judges, namely Galih Sedayu, Dudi Sugandi, and Hery Dimyati. (sya)**
