Yes, formerly the area known as an industrial area filled with large-sized expedition trucks back and forth was the first place to spread the news of the independence of the Republic of Indonesia, August 77 last year.

In that place, the term Radio Republik Indonesia was heard to replace Radio Hoso Kyoku. Radio Hoso Kyoku's broadcast leader, R.A Darja, was the first to utter the iconic phrase "here is Bandung, broadcast by Radio Republik Indonesia". Until now, the sentence is still on the air.

Compiled from various sources, a number of Bandung youths 77 years ago struggled to broadcast the news of Indonesia's independence through the radio. This movement began in May 1945 at the All Java Youth Congress in Bandung with the agenda of discussing efforts to prepare for the Proclamation of Independence.

A series of plans were decided, although some of them were noted to have failed. However, the efforts continued until finally the text of the proclamation was obtained from Mohammad Adam (a journalist and trusted courier of Adam Malik, the leader of Antara at that time).

Then, Sakti Alamsyah was lined up as the first broadcaster in Bandung to read the text of the proclamation at the Hoso Kyoku Radio Studio, Bandung on Jalan Lapangan Tegallega Timur (or now Jalan Moch Toha Dalam II).

For 77 years, now, this historic place has turned into an industrial area in the city of Bandung. Reportedly, the studio building had changed hands from the Dutch to the Chinese until it was eventually turned into a cheese warehouse.

However, we can still see historical symbols in the area. It is proven by the existence of a stylized or pillar-shaped pillar of a radio transmitter as a sign that it was there that Hoso Kyoku had stood and was on the air.

The stylist was erected in one of the courtyards of the Immanuel Christian Church of the Gloria Congregation, which reportedly used to be the front yard of Radio Hoso Kyoku's office.

The stylization stands firmly with a height of about 25-30 meters, coupled with the attachment of an object similar to a typical red radio station transmitter at the top of the monument.

If you cross the area and see these historical monuments, there's nothing wrong with remembering the services of the heroes by sending the best prayers for the spreaders of independence to any part of the world. (ray)**
