Acara “Mesalin” atau Melukis Sabari Ulin di Imah Seni Cigondewah, Jalan Batu Rengat, Cigondewah Kaler, Minggu 4 September 2022.

Accompanied by artist Tisna Sanjaya, the dozens of children demonstrated their skills on paper art media. Their imagination spilled over into various forms of images and colors.

By relying on simple materials ranging from watercolors, used goods, used leaves and twigs, and many more, the dozens of children seemed to be enjoying being creative.

Not only painting, they also learned many things in this event. These include pencak silat and farming.

“Mesalin” was initiated by the Cigondewah Tourism Village Assistance Team under the auspices of the Bandung City Culture and Tourism Office (DIsbudpar).

“We package this event its approach to the field of arts and culture. You can see that the children are very enthusiastic about painting and planting trees,” said the Senior Expert Team for Cigondewah Tourism Village, Arni Metriyana.

He added that this event was an introduction for children, especially residents of Cigondewah Kaler, about local wisdom.

By introducing art, culture and the environment, he hopes that the children can preserve and care for the Cigondewah Tourism Village in the future.

In line with Arni, Sub Coordinator of Tourism Community Empowerment of the Bandung City Tourism Office, Arie Astuti PR also said that the series of activities in this event were full of local wisdom.

"The goal is for children to love the culture that is here, as well as local wisdom, which is very expensive," said Arie.

He hopes that in the future there will be more activations in other tourist villages in Bandung. To note, until 2022, the city of Bandung has 6 tourist villages: Cigondewah, Braga, Cigadung, Binong Jati, Cinambo, and Cibaduyut.

On the other hand, artist Tisna Sanjaya said he was happy to share his art knowledge with children.

He said the artistic approach was deemed appropriate to train children's imagination and cohesiveness in the midst of the onslaught of technology.

"It's not that we are against the flow of technology, but there needs to be art activities that train children's imagination and collaboration," said Tisna. (ray)**
