"Alhamdulillah, it is agreed that the increase in urban transportation in Bandung will increase by a thousand rupiah from the old tariff. This is based on the results of a joint calculation of the components of the increase in fuel prices from spare parts and personnel," said Dadang at City Hall, Tuesday, September 6, 2022.

Previously, the Bandung City Transportation Agency held a coordination meeting regarding the adjustment of public transport fares to the fuel price hike on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 morning.

The coordination meeting was attended by Satlantas Polrestabes Bandung, DPC Organda Bandung, BLUD UPTD Transportation, Perum Damri Bandung Branch, Kobanter Baru, Kobutri, Kopamas, SPTI Bandung City.

Dadang also added that public transportation fares in the city of Bandung are calculated to be flat or far near the same.

“The shortest distance is the Mengger - Abdul Muis route, which was originally Rp. 2,900 and increased to Rp. 3,900. While the longest route is the Margahayu - Ledeng route, initially Rp. 4,500, now it is Rp. 5,500, "he explained.

In addition, he also mentioned that public transportation fares in Bandung were last updated in 2016.

Furthermore, this agreement will be submitted to the Mayor of Bandung, Yana Mulyana for later a decision by the mayor.

Dadang appealed to drivers and owners of public transportation businesses to be patient. This means that drivers and entrepreneurs of public transportation do not first raise public transportation fares.

"We will submit this proposal to be the mayor's decision," he said.

Regarding the process, reflecting on the experience of increasing tariffs in the past, Dadang predicts that the process will not last more than 3 days.

On the other hand, Dadang said that currently modes of transportation under the auspices of the Bandung City Government such as Trans Metro Bandung (TMB) are trying to survive with old tariffs.

As for reducing operational costs, adjustments for TMB are applied to the ritase aspect.

“For example, one corridor was initially 8 rits, after this adjustment changed to 6 rits. By considering the pick hour," said Dadang.

He said this scheme was implemented through an evaluation process.

"We try to survive first with the old tariff. We will see the results after evaluation,” said Dadang. (ray)**
