International Disability Day, Yunimar Invites to Create an Inclusive Environment

The Chairperson of Community-Based Rehabilitation (RBM) for the City of Bandung, Yunimar Mulyana encourages all citizens of the City of Bandung to create an inclusive environment that provides equal opportunities to participate fully without any discrimination for disabilities in the City of Bandung.

Yunimar said this while attending the Sumur Bandung District Level International Day of Disabilities (HDI) in 2022 at Tongkeng Park, Merdeka Village, Sumur Bandung District, Wednesday 30 November 2022.

"RBM continues to provide services and assistance for people with disabilities and families with disabilities so that they get the same facilities as other residents of Bandung," he said.

According to Yunimar, RBM has conducted regular assessments of disabilities.

In addition, RBM also comes with various programs including referral hospitals and specialist doctors, infrastructure for disabilities, facilities for disabilities and population administration services for people with disabilities.

"We continue to provide even more services. We are trying to provide assistance in the form of the equipment needed," he said.

To support empowered disabled people, RBM has provided various assistance for disabilities such as wheelchair assistance and tablets for online business development.

"Hopefully the disabled are economically empowered and independent and solve their problems. We are here to help them, provide services and facilities for disabilities," he said.

To note, the highlight of the International Day of Disabilities commemoration at the Bandung City level will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at the Bandung City Hall.

Meanwhile, Sumur Bandung Sub-district Head, Wahyu Rinjaningsih said, in Sumur Bandung District, currently there are 175 children with disabilities who continue to be provided with assistance from the sub-district.

The data continues to be updated every January every year.

He hopes that persons with disabilities will continue to receive attention from the government and various stakeholders.

"We continue to push for a disability-friendly environment," he said.

At the event, there was a handover of assistance from the Wells Bandung sub-district for persons with disabilities in the Wells Bandung sub-district. (rob)**
