Free! Rabies Vaccination and Feral Cat Sterilization, Note the Date and Conditions

Bandung residents who want their beloved pets to be sterilized, Food and Agriculture Security (DKPP) Bandung City will hold free sterilization on March 16. Not only for pet cats, this free sterilization also applies to stray cats around your residence.

Apart from sterilization, the Bandung City DKPP also provides free rabies vaccine services for cats and dogs.

This is an effort to control the wild cat population and prevent the transmission of strategic infectious animal diseases such as rabies.

This activity was held at Dewi Sartika Park, Bandung City Hall on Saturday 16 March 2024 at 09.00 WIB - finished.

Head of the Animal Husbandry and Animal Health Division of the Bandung City DKPP, Wilsandi Saefuloh, said that the vaccine and sterilization agenda is part of vigilance activities.

"Indeed, this vaccine is part of the priority and part of rabies awareness in the city of Bandung," he said.

He revealed that specifically for sterilization, this activity was an effort to control wild animals in the community.

"We are trying to ensure that disease does not spread, and sterilization is important. Moreover, there is no owner," said Wilsandi.

For the rabies vaccine, DKPP is targeting 250 cats and dogs. Meanwhile, cat sterilization is targeted at 130 stray (unowned) cats.

"So Bandung residents can bring their pets and stray cats for sterilization," he said.

The requirements for cat sterilization:

1. You must register first
2. Upload videos of catching cats on D-1 and releasing cats in the form of Instagram reels
3. Have a Bandung City KTP
4. Minimum age 6 months or if the weight is 1.5 kg
5. Healthy condition
6. Especially for domestic/local stray cats (short fur)
7. 1 person can only register 1 cat
8. The cat is not breastfeeding and is not pregnant

Rabies vaccine requirements:

1. Especially for owners of Bandung City ID cards
2. Fill in 1 Google form for 1 animal
3. 1 KTP can register a maximum of 5 animals
4. The animal is in good health
5. Cat at least 4 months old, minimum weight 2 kg 5.
6. Dogs at least 4 months old.
